Hebel has proudly joined forces with residential property developer AVJennings and the Steve Waugh Foundation in their initiative to develop, design and build a series of homes across Australia – all in the name of a very special cause.
Renee Eliades, a spirited young lady living with a rare disease called Geleophysic Dysplasia, was the inspiration behind a series of four residential properties named in her honour. Renee has experienced first hand the incredible work the Steve Waugh Foundation does for children and families affected by rare diseases and was an active contributor to the projects having been appointed the role of site manager.
After the success of the first Renee project in 2013, Hebel became aware of the remarkable initiative and jumped at the opportunity to contribute to the three subsequent projects – Renee II in Wollert Victoria, Renee 3 in Doreen Victoria and Renee 4 in Coomeera Queensland.

In association with a raft of sponsors, Hebel was actively involved in the construction of the three houses, donating PowerPanelXL panels which provided the homes the desired contemporary rendered look as well as boasting superior thermal and acoustic properties. Hebel also provided the installation of the system throughout Renee II and Renee 3, with the Hebel Innovations team donating their time during the installation in Renee 4.
When planning for Renee II, AVJennings were looking for a material that would offer a modern look for their discerning consumers while delivering an exceptional performance. National Design Manager John Eckert says, “We wanted a house that had a very strong visual impact but still matched market expectations. Hebel were able to fulfil all criteria with the added benefits of being faster to build with excellent environmental benefits.”
Since then, Hebel has continued its involvement in the initiative as the product of choice, with the supply of Hebel PowerPanelXL throughout Renee 3 and Renee 4. The stunningly finished Renee 3 has been sold, whilst construction of Renee 4 is almost complete.
Profits from the sales of all properties go directly to the Steve Waugh Foundation and will assist them in their commitment to improving the quality of life for children and families affected by rare diseases.
