Hebel features in nominations for high-density development awards

Over the past decade, Sydney has embraced urban apartment living resulting in an increase in construction of high-density developments across the city.

In this time, Hebel has emerged as the system of choice for internal party walls for high-rise projects. Architects, designers and construction companies turn to Hebel for the exceptional benefits delivered in terms of quality, project efficiency, risk minimisation and cost and time certainty.

Hebel’s quality and popularity in high-rise developments were recently recognised at the coveted UDIA NSW Meriton Awards for Excellence for 2015. Acknowledging the very best in urban development in NSW and ACT, Hebel featured in all 10 of the nominees for the High-density Development category. Some of the nominees included:

Epping Park, Meriton Group

Situated on Epping’s highest point, Epping Park consists of 17 buildings of varying heights, covering three hectares of parklands and open space. This one-of-a-kind community development was masterfully designed to introduce luxury lifestyle within a sustainable high-density footprint.

Chief architect of Meriton Apartments, Alan Johnson says “the Hebel acoustic properties are a blessing, and make the installation process much easier”.

Discovery Point, Australand

This mixed-use high-density development is set to bring a slice of sophistication to Sydney’s inner south. Spanning approx. 6.5 hectares, the complex combines contemporary living with a selection of lifestyle facilities to create a highly desirable community environment.

Hebel internal walls were specified across the 10-storey project for their superior qualities and ease of installation. Gary Cory, Crown Group’s General Manager of Construction says “with less wet trades required there is faster construction and therefore lower overhead costs.”

Park Lane and The Mark by Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House Australia

Announced as the winner of the category, this project was the second stage of the Central Park precinct project in Chippendale. Comprising of 805 apartments within a cluster of three buildings, the development features detailed glass facades and a bold urban laneway that extends to the public domain.

The judges noted the various design elements that made the development stand above the competition, as well as the 5-star-Green-Star environmental rating – an achievement made possible due to the use of Hebel internal walls throughout the complex.
