Why Indigo Homes chooses Hebel PowerPanel^XL

Chris La Franchi, Director of Indigo Homes, thinks this is best achieved by working with more flexible building materials, like Hebel PowerPanel^XL.

“A couple of years ago, we actually had a look at a retirement village that was using Hebel PowerPanel^XL. I was really impressed with the quality of the finish and how straight and clean all the edges were – so we started using it,” Chris explained.

“It’s a lot more consistent than a brickwork finish. With brickwork, there’s more of a margin for error and the workmanship isn’t always of the highest quality – whereas with Hebel it’s generally consistent,” he added.

Chris doesn’t just enjoy the consistency of the rendered finish provided when working with Hebel, he also enjoys the consistency of costs.

“We’ve got a certainty of cost and supply with Hebel materials,” he said.  

“Working with bricklayers is a bit less predictable. Busy periods like Christmas – when everyone has a big sales period – can create problems. If they all have a lot of jobs on at the same time, it can be hard to get bricklayers – and subsequently their rates go up. With Hebel it’s a very consistent supply which makes it a lot easier to stay on track with the cost of jobs,” Chris explained.

Chris also prefers working with PowerPanel ^XL because it creates a cleaner and more organised work site.

“You’ve basically got onsite storage for the Hebel panels, which is a lot easier than working with bricks. When you’re building with bricks, they take up a lot of space onsite. Whereas we can just stack Hebel panels on top of each other and place them to the side,” he added.

“Hebel offers a viable and cost-effective alternative for us to brickwork,” he said.
